| Wells Cathedral | These images were taken on a visit to Wells Cathedral in November 2009, while on holiday with friends in Somerset, a very beautiful and civilised part of the world!
The cloister.
The Nave, looking eastwards.
The Quire, looking back westwards to the magnificent central organ above the screen.
There are a good number of bishops, eternally looking up at the wonderful vaulting.
Steep steps lead up to this impressive chapter house. And Wells itself is a delightful place, with its market, its pubs and hotels. Even the Cathedral has a nice new visitors' centre with a shop and restaurant - well worth stopping for a bit of physical refreshment after the spiritually uplifting experience of walking through its gothic splendour.
