There are many scholarly journals for philosophy and ethics, but for students and those with a general interest in the subject, the following magazines provide a wide range of issues and are accessible to the non-specialist.

Think is the journal of the Royal Institute of Philosophy. It aims to bridge the gap between academic philosophy and the general public, and discusses a whole range of issue in a way that is free from jargon. Its website provides sample articles, to give you a flavour of what it has to offer.

The Philosophers Magazine similarly offers a wide range of interesting and jargon-free articles. Take a look at their website for more information.  You may also be able to get a cheaper rate by subscribing to both Think and TPM.

Philosophy Now, like the other two, covers a wide range of topics in a lively way. Like them, too, is has an extensive archive. Take a look at:

New to this page ...  Pathways to Philosophy, the provider of distance learning courses in Philosophy, has an on-line journal, with free access to a range of articles. Log on to http://www.philosophos.com/index.html and take a look at the sample articles.

The only problem with these magazines, as far as I can see, is that life is just too short to keep up with all the interesting new material out there!
